RDS solves radiological decontamination problems through the use of our Patent Pending, proprietary, water-based solutions. They remove radioactive contamination to acceptable levels within minutes. They work by dislocating radioactive ions enabling them to be easily removed. This process provides improved decontamination, lowered dose and major cost savings.
We have three different and specific solutions used for three different classes of radioactive material. Our patent-pending solutions are effective on 1. Radioactive Halogens such as iodine and fluorine; 2. Transition Metals such as cesium and cobalt; and 3. Actinides such as uranium, plutonium, and americium.
Nuclear power generating facilities and and nuclear waste facilities use our products. We also sell Emergency RadDecon Kits™ to First Responders and the general public.
Published data (available upon request) shows remarkable decontamination results (High Decontamination Factors (100 to 500) are common).
Our core technology is called the “Mass Effect” influence. By flooding any radioactive surface with our proprietary solutions, the Radioactive material is lifted off the surface and suspended in solution where it can be easily wiped up and removed as radioactive waste. Each of our solutions is specially prepared to address a specific chemical group, they are ion-specific. Our Halogen Mass Effect solution (also marketed under “Dr. K’s Iodowash”) will pick up all Halogens such as Iodine, Fluorine, Chlorine, etc. Our Transition Metal Mass Effect solution will pick up all Transition Metals such as Cesium, Cobalt, Strontium, Thallium, etc. Our Actinide Mass Effect solution will pick up all Actinide Metals such as Plutonium, Uranium, Technetium, Americium, Radium, etc. We have developed these solutions to make them user friendly and provide the most effective decontamination possible. Just spray on and wipe off. The solutions are water based and environmentally friendly. They can be used on intact human skin.
Typically all three solutions above will be used in an industrial setting such as a nuclear power plant. First Responders preparing for a “dirty bomb” or a nuclear disaster will most likely be in need of the Transition Metal or Actinide Solution. Our Emergency RadDecon Kit™ contains solutions for the Transition Metals and the Actinides. Halogen Mass Effect solution can be purchased separately.
Resins: We have developed ion-specific resins that will remove the radioactive material from the Mass Effect solutions. This is useful in large decontamination operations such as showers for mass human decontamination and in various projects in nuclear power plants. The Mass Effect solution can be run through a resin bed where the radioactive material is removed, thus allowing reuse of the Mass Effect solution
